Barnstable's Best Dog Contest begins April 15th

Your dog could wear the #1 tag in town this year

Starting Thursday, April 15, 2010 Barnstable dog owners are encouraged to submit photos of their prized pooches for entry in the Barnstable Best Dog Contest.

Photos will be accepted from the 15th until noon on the 30th of April. The winner will be announced the afternoon of the 30th, so make sure you come in and vote for your favorite before then.

The winning dog will receive the #1 dog tag and his/her photo will be proudly displayed on the town's website through the coming year.

To submit your dog's photo, send the photo (the dog's name and your name and address on the back), a check for $7.00 for a spayed or neutered animal, or $10.00 for an animal that is not spayed or neutered, and a copy of the current rabies certificate (if it has been updated recently) to:

Dog licenses will not be issued until Monday, May 3, 2010. All photo and license submissions will
be processed beginning on May 3rd.

All dog owners have until July 1, 2010 to get their 2010 license.

Town Clerk Linda Hutchenrider encourage you to apply for your dog(s)'s license early so you don't forget.
