Provincetown makes FIDO Friendly magazine's Best US Cities list
The doggie lover's magazine FIDO Friendly released its 50th issue for July/August 2011. This issue is indeed special with giveaways and an interview with famed actor and "animal ally" Betty White.
The 50th issue also includes several best of lists including the Best US Cities list and it is not surprise that the town at the Cape's tip made the cut. Provincetown has made the list of Best FIDO Friendly Cities along with San Francisco and Portland, ME.
Robert Sanborn of the Provincetown Visitors Bureau told FIDO Friendly that since the Pilgrims landed in Provincetown in 1620 with an English Mastiff and an English Springer on-board, the town known for its acceptance of all walks of life, has been a welcoming port for dogs and their owners too.
FIDO Friendly offers a few key reasons why Provincetown is a not-to-miss destination for folks traveling with pets including:
- Over 30 pet-friendly lodgings
- Pilgrim Bark Park, an off-leash dog park
- Dog-friendly shops
