Dennis' "Top Dog" to be crowned on November 1, 2011

Winner gets the #1 dog tag for 2012

The Town of Dennis' "Top Dog" contest continues now through the end of October. To enter, Dennis residents must either mail or bring to the Town Hall:

• A recent photo of your dashing dog with the dog's name, your name, you address and telephone number on the back. Photos must not exceed 4"x6".
• An up-to-date rabies certificate from your veterinarian.
• A check made out to the Town of Dennis for $5 for spayed/neutured dogs or $20 for unaltered dogs.
• A self-addressed, stamped envelope. All contestants will receive their photo and 2012 dog tag back in the mail. The winner will receive their license payment back as well.

The winner of the Top Dog contest will receive the 2012 #1 dog tag at no charge, their pet's photo on the town's website and a certificate naming their pooch "Top Dog" in Dennis. The winning resident will also be eligible for a free Massachusetts Animal Coalition/Animal-Friendly license plate.

Photos will be accepted through the end of October. Voting will take place at the Town Clerk's office between November 1 and 18.

All residents, with the exception of Town of Dennis employees are welcome to vote.

No licenses will be issued before December 1, 2011. To avoid a $5 late fee, all Dennis dogs must be license for 2012 by January 31.
