Pet first aid course scheduled for November 22nd on Nantucket
American Red Cross offers Pet First Aid Training Class November 22, 2009 at Nantucket Community School
The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, will offer a Pet First Aid training course on November 22, 2009 from 1 to 4 pm at the Nantucket Community School Downtown Campus, Greenhound Building located at 10 Washington Street, Nantucket.
Just like with people, accidents and emergencies can happen to animals, so
being prepared could make a lifesaving difference. Many people all over the Cape
and Islands own pets, but do they know what to do in the case of an emergency.
The American Red Cross would like to
create awareness and teach you how to
protect both you and your pet from injury.
The course provides valuable information on how to keep your pet safe and how to act with confidence during an emergency. The cost of the class includes the class instruction as well as a Dog or Cat First Aid textbook, written by the American Red Cross and the Humane Society of the United States. Your pets love and care for you. It is important that we learn how to care for them and keep them safe and healthy.
Topics covered include:
- Symptoms and care for common ailments and emergencies
- Creating a pet first aid kit
- How to prepare for disasters
- Tips on maintaining your pet's health and well-being
The cost of this course is $60. The training is for dog and cat first aid only and participants are asked to please not bring their pets with them.
The best way to enroll is online at nantucketcommunityschool.org/classes_catalog.php or by calling 508-228-7280.
